Voudourisite

A specimen acquired from Sid Pieters and now in a private collection, comprises a sulphide matrix on which voudourisite is associated with cerussite, edwardsite and lazaridisite. The specimen has been analysed by EMPA, although the means of identification of the voudourisite is not specifically stated. This specimen and paragenesis provides important corroboration for the cadmium sulphate paragenesis reported by Joy Désor (Joy Désor - New minerals for the Tsumeb mine, Namibia (mindat.org); accessed April 2023). However, questionable status is retained for voudourisite pending verification.
