Vésigniéite was first reported from Tsumeb by Bowell and Mocke (2018) in association with mottramite and calcite on a specimen attributed to 32 Level in the second oxidation zone. The specimen is in the collections of the Geological Survey of Namibia (catalogue number GSN8484). The means of identification was not stated.
There is no mention of vésigniéite in the peer-reviewed literature and questionable status is retained pending confirmation.
