General Notes

Bartelke (1976; citing unpublished TCL reports from 1973) noted that seligmannite was identified from its optical properties as microscopic inclusions in copper sulphides.

Lombaard et al. (1986) included seligmannite as "very rare" in their list of Tsumeb minerals.

Hughes (1987), however, cautioned that seligmannite was originally identified under the ore microscope but never confirmed by analysis.

Questionable status is retained for seligmannite pending modern confirmation.
