General Notes
Mixite from Tsumeb was reported by Pinch and Wilson (1977) who noted that the mineral had been observed on a single specimen (in the Smithsonian Institution), as "… small white sprays of extremely thin, matted crystals on azurite".
Keller (1984), Gebhard (1999) and Von Bezing et al. (2007) included mixite in their species lists, citing the note from Pinch and Wilson (1977). Von Bezing et al. (2007) cautioned that this would be an unusual colour for mixite.
No other bismuth-containing species have been recorded at Tsumeb.
Questionable status is retained for mixite pending confirmation.
