General Notes
Embrey et al. (1977a) hypothesised that the colour of blue wulfenite found at Tsumeb might be due to the partial reduction of Mo6+ to Mo4+ and cited the colour mechanism in ilsemannite as a comparison. Pinch and Wilson (1977) may have mis-interpreted Embrey et al. (1977a) in suggesting that "…the blue colour [of wulfenite] may be due to inclusions of ilsemannite…".
Ilsemannite has not been mentioned in subsequent publications and its occurrence at Tsumeb is considered doubtful.
