Description
A quartz shard coloured with a thin dusting of goethite and encrusted with golden-yellow pseudo-hexagonal microcrystals of beudantite and supplanted by a second generation of larger, prismatic crystals (to 2 mm) of yellow-brown to chocolate-brown beudantite, some of which are intergrown to form nodular aggregates.
The specimen was purchased from a gift shop in Main Street / President Street in Tsumeb in early 1985. There is no record of location in the mine but this is a second oxidation zone specimen and is probably from the same location as TSNB942 and TSNB656 which are attributed to 36 Level, West 12.
